Between all your holiday shopping, take time out to relax and enjoy the sweet sounds of island music on Thursday, December 17 from 6 to 7:30 pm during another free Hawaiian Music Series concert. Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Baldwin Home Museum lawn at the corner of Dickenson and Front Streets in Lahaina is the place to be and Koa is the band to hear.

Allen Koa, ‘Aiau Koa, Richard Bissen and Mark Vaught comprise the group, Koa. Although the four musicians come from diverse musical backgrounds, they are all passionate about one thing — Hawaiian music. The common thread that brought these friends together was their love of the songs of old Hawai‘i and the challenge of achieving that traditional sound revered by their parents. Whether playing smooth melodies or striking harmonies, the members of Koa truly love to experiment with old time Hawaiian music. They perform around the island and continue to enjoy playing music together on guitar, bass and ‘ukulele.

Limited seating is provided for kūpuna; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome. This ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program is supported by Hawai‘i Tourism Authority and the County of Maui Office of Economic Development.
