Honor the traditions of China at the annual Chinese Moon Festival, a favorite past-time for family, friends and sweethearts to reunite under a full moon during the mid-autumn harvest.

Leading up to the festival, from Monday, Sep. 9 to Sep. 14th, admission to the Wo Hing Museum & Cookhouse is FREE. Visitors will enjoy a Chinese lantern display, Moon Festival special exhibit, and traditional Moon Goddess harvest display. ON SALE during the week are delicious moon cakes all the way from Hong Kong!

Saturday, September 14th: Schedule of Activities

  • At 1 PM and 6 PM: “Story of the Moon Festival and Tea Culture” presented by Wo Hing Museum Cultural Director, Dr. Busaba Yip and tea specialist, Fawn Shang of Oahu. (Taiwanese moon cake sampling included)
  • From 4 to 9 PM:
    • Tea Garden with Moon cakes and Chinese Teas (for purchase)
    • Keiki Art Activity – Painting with Tea
    • Learn to Play Mahjong
  • From 6 to 7 PM: 
    • Chinese calligraphy and knot-tying
    • Erhu musical performance
  • From 5 to 7:30 PM 
    • Crispy Gau Gee food demo and tasting, by Chef Bobby Santos
