A falsetto singer-guitarist with an outstanding vocal range, Dane Fujiwara will perform at our free Hawaiian Music Series concert on Thursday, June 30 from 6 to 7:30 pm in front of the Baldwin Home Museum at the corner of Dickenson and Front Streets in Lahaina.

Dane Fujiwara was born and raised on Maui and graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama on O‘ahu. His natural talent and love for Hawaiian music was strengthened by studying under some of Hawai‘i’s finest artists, including Hoku Zuttermeister and Kuana Torres Kahele. After graduating, he continued to develop his skills, sharing the stage with many of today’s prominent Hawaiian musicians. In 2009, Dane won the Kindy Sproat Falsetto and Storytelling Contest on Hawai‘i Island. He also competed in Maui’s Festivals of Aloha Richard Ho‘opi‘i Leo Ki‘eki‘e Falsetto Contest. When not performing, Dane will be teaching math at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama.
